For those that are looking for wide angel surveillance coverage, X10 has deigned the WideEye cameras. Unlike the other X10 cameras, the WideEye provides wider space coverage by implementing a 120 degree wide-angel lens. One of these cameras can be enough to capture the entire space making it an inexpensive and effective solution.
Since the WideEye security camera is wireless, you won't need to worry about running cables all over the place which makes you installation a lot easier. To set-up this camera, all what you have to do is to plug the receiver into your TV or CVR. The XCam2 WideEye Surveillance camera package comes with a standard AC power supply. If finding a close by outlet is an issue, X10 has made battery packs that offer up to 4 hours of power.

Simply set up your WideEye Surveillance Camera and plug the receiver into your TV or VCR. The surveillance camera's signal can transmit through walls and floors up to 100 feet! To view what your WideEye surveillance camera is seeing, simply change your TV channel for a wide-angle view!
What does wireless mean exactly?
The XCam2 Surveillance Camera is wireless! Since wires aren't needed to transfer images from the camera to the receiver, you can place the WideEye surveillance camera virtually anywhere and be able to to see clear, wide-angle, color pictures of your home and property. However, the surveillance camera still needs a power source. The XCam2 WideEye Surveillance Camera Kit comes with a standard AC power supply. Battery packs are also available for purchase should you want to mount your camera where there is no electrical outlet close by.

About the Video Receiver
A Video Receiver is a necessary component of X10’s Wireless Camera Systems. With a Video Receiver, you can receive video signals from up to 16 wireless cameras and display them (one at a time) on your TV screen. Alternatively, you can connect a Video Receiver to a VCR to record the video signals or to a PC for computer- or web-based surveillance (USB Video Capture Adapter and Software required). |
